Our host for the WDSF World Championship 2026 is the Slovenian Dutch shepherd club.

From 18th -20th September 2026 the WDSF WC will be held in Maribor, Slovenia.

Maribor is Slovenia’s second-largest city and the cultural and sporting heart of the country’s northeast. Situated along the scenic Drava River, it combines rich history, vibrant urban life, and easy access to nature—making it an ideal destination for international events.

Known for its welcoming atmosphere and strong sporting tradition, Maribor regularly hosts national and international competitions, festivals, and cultural events, attracting visitors from across the world.

The city boasts a charming historic center with medieval architecture, including landmarks such as Maribor Castle, the Maribor Cathedral, and the famous Lent District along the river.

Maribor is also globally recognized for its wine culture. In 2026, it was named European Best Wine Capital, highlighting its unique heritage as home to the oldest grapevine in the world—over 400 years old.

Set at the foot of the Pohorje and hosted at Play Green Resort, the Dutch Shepherd World Championship takes place in an exceptional natural environment.
